Maintenance Engineer (Rotating Equipment)

Maintenance Engineer reports to Maintenance Delivery Manager and provides maintenance engineering support for Gas Compression and Power Generation stations and Top Drive units. The successful candidate will need to work closely with Field Service Engineers and Site Supervisors in order to achieve the continuous running of equipment and machinery. Maintenance engineer will work with other professionals in order to improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes.

Main responsibilities:
Include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop maintenance strategies, procedures and methods; 
  • Review and update existing company maintenance strategy documents; 
  • Troubleshoot breakdown problems; 
  • Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs; 
  • Liaise with customers and other engineering and production colleagues; 
  • Work closely with Material Coordinator to effectively manage inventory and spare parts. Carry out quality inspections on performed jobs through CMMS; 
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation; 
  • Consult with Field Service Engineers and and Site Supervisors on technical problems; 
  • Monitor equipment performance and ensure equipment is performing effectively and efficiently; 
  • Establish and monitor programs for critical equipment analysis and condition monitoring techniques; 
  • Review deficiencies noted during corrective maintenance; 
  • Provide technical guidance for CMMS; 
  • Monitor new tools and technology for maintenance improvement; 
  • Assist planner with major equipment overhauls and outages planning;
  • Provide technical guidance for the preventive and predictive maintenance programs; 
  • Serve as the focal point for monitoring performance indicators for maintenance management; 
  • Responsible for analyzing equipment, operating data; 
  • Make cost-effective benefit review of the maintenance programs; 
  • Develop preservation maintenance strategy and requirements; 
  • Produce monthly reports for customer about completed jobs; 
  • Define KPIs for equipment performance and maintenance efficiency and produce monthly reports; 
  • Provide engineering support for root cause analysis. 
Education/experience & Qualification:
  • High school diploma in Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the engineering field, preferably in a similar field;
  • Expert knowledge of the rotating equipment (Gas Turbines, Gas Compressors) and auxiliaries (Gears, Couplings and Guards, Lube Oil System, Gas Fuel System, Liquid Fuel System, Seal Gas System etc.);
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schemes;
  • Good working knowledge of CMMS tools (Maximo, SAP-PM);
  • Understanding of CbM (Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, Thermography, Ultrasonic), PM and PdM techniques;
  • Experience in application of Root Cause Analysis Techniques (FMEA, FTA, 5 Whys, Ishikawa Diagrams, etc.);
  • Troubleshooting experience;
  • Good analytical abilities and problem-solving skills;
  • Be able to work on own initiative, work to deadlines and also be a team player;
  • An ability to work well under pressure;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Fluent in Azerbaijani and English languages;
  • Advanced PC user.

Field Service Engineer (Mechanical)

Main responsibilities:

  • Performs field inspections and oversees field measurements and data collection;
  • Performs package mechanical systems planned and corrective maintenance;

  • Gas Turbine Engine and Compressor removal and installation;
  • Conducts condition monitoring of equipment (vibration analysis and diagnostics, lubricant analysis etc.);

  • Performs field repairs of driven equipment, pumps, compressors and generators;
  • Contributes to Computerized Maintenance Management System Program (CMMS);
  • Coaching and mentoring junior maintenance staff as per developed on-job-training program;
  • Provide input on full field development specifications and related process equipment;
  • Ensure compliance with all company and governmental safety, environmental and health rules and regulations;
  • Any and all other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor, including the possibility of occasional workshop-based activities.  

Education & experience:

  • High school diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;  
  • Detailed knowledge of power plant systems and equipment in the area of responsibility;  
  • Minimum 5 years experience in rotating equipment onsite maintenance, operations, troubleshooting, and repair;  
  • Experience in a similar industry is strongly preferred;
  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment installation/maintenance; philosophy of Gas Turbines and Compressors, and their auxiliaries (lube oil system, fuel gas system, seal gas system, steam system etc).

Field Service Engineer (Instrument & Control)

“Field Service Supervisor reports to Maintenance Delivery Manager and responsible for supervision of Fields Service Engineers and third Party Service providers. 

Main responsibilities:

  • Exposure to PLC control systems (Allen Bradley PLC 5, RS/Logix 5000, Turbotronics);  
  • Experience in a similar industry is strongly preferred.

Valve Technician

“GVL LLC” is the service company providing valve maintenance, valve facility management and valve stock management services in Azerbaijan and Georgia. 
Main responsibilities:

Include, but are not limited to the following:
 

  • To carry out complete overhaul of different valves, actuators and gearboxes, unsupervised;
  • To complete testing / recertification of different valves and actuators as per required specification, unsupervised;
  • Competent to strip, assess, overhaul, assemble and recertify all types of valves including PSV’s, Ball, Globe, Check, Butterfly, Gate, Control, Parallel slide and Plug valves (unsupervised);
  • Competent to perform full testing (hydro and gas) as per the relevant standard test procedure, using company test equipment (unsupervised);
  • Provide technical support and expertise to company clients and Grade 2/3 valve technicians;
  • Able to compile strip down and overhaul reports for all valve types;
  • Able to perform QA/QC reviews on all work carried out;
  • Able to witness and sign as witness authority for all valve pressure testing;
  • To work unsupervised on/offshore and overseas at short notice;
  • Use basic measuring machining capability;  
  • Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner, including appropriate Point of Work Risk Assessment, complete compliance with Quality Plan requirements, job routing;  
  • Prepare and check all detailed inspection reports, including making recommendations for repairs, upgrades and replacement parts requirements;  
  • Follows the company’s safety and environmental rules, policies and procedures;  
  • Health and safety in the workshop and sites;  
  • Participate in safety meetings;  
  • Operate, inspect, and maintain facilities in a safe condition;  
  • Report injuries, unsafe conditions, and incidents immediately.  

Education & experience:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience of working in a valve service and or valve manufacturing environment;
  • Competent knowledge and understanding of all types of valves and actuator systems;
  • Fully familiar with NBIC, BS, ANSI, API and ASME codes and their applications for all testing, measuring and applicable requirements;
  • Demonstrate problem solving and analytical capability.
